A massage entrepreneur’s journey to becoming a millionaire.

Just in case you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, I haven’t abandoned my blog. I’ve been very busy writing the copy for a new web portal for chair massage professionals. As soon as it’s live I’ll be letting you know.

Just an update to the ‘Ready, Fire, Aim’ line in my last post.  The full line should be ‘Ready Fire Aim: Money Loves Action.’ It’s the title of Michael Masterson’s new book on business building. Or how to go from zero to $100 million in 5 years. It’s set to be released early 2008. Michael has a whole section devoted to it on his new website http://www.michaelmasterson.net.  Personally I’m looking forward to reading it when it’s out.

One of the things I learned about being successful is that you need to take action. Unfortunately it wasn’t one of the first, or I’d be a lot further along then I am. If you read any of the newsletters/posts of the of the Internet gurus they’ll all advise the same thing. Taking action is the key. If you’re not satisfied with your income (And just why was it you wanted to be an entrepreneur in the first place?) you need to start doing things to improve and grow your business.

If you read lots of books & newsletters, buy lots of stuff on line, attend bootcamps and whatever, and you don’t take action;  you’re just wasting your time, effort and money and you’re not accomplishing anything.  Taking action means you need to do something every day to grow your business. In other words, if you want to be a millionaire, you gotta take action. There is no success without action. That applies equally whether you’re an on site massage  practitioner like myself, a massage therapist, or any other type of business owner, online or off.

Wat I do is take about an hour every morning (or most mornings) choose on activity and focus on doing. For example, this morning I added a sales page and updated my landing page head and sub head lines. Another morning, I might write an article. Even if I only get 1 or 2 paragraphs done, I’ve taken action. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be. One of my favourite lines about taking action is from Michael Masterson over at Early to Rise. (great free newsletter, probably the one of the Internet’s most popular newsletter & always an informative read: their Heath, Wealth and Success E-Zine at http://www.earlytorise.com )

The line: “Ready, Fire, Aim.”  Take action, any action, just do something to build your business and you can improve on it later. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just get something accomplished, & get it out there. People won’t find you if you don’t, & if they do find you, if you have nothing new or unique to offer, they’ll just be on their way.

Hello world!

Posted by inmyhands on August 14, 2007

This is my first official post on my journey to becoming an on site massage millionaire. As much as I enjoy being a massage professional, I enjoy the challenge of making my first million  even more.  In future posts I’ll share my journey with you.  If you know where to look, the www is a golden resource for entrepreneurs whether your business is online or off. As I’m sure you already know, even if you’re primarily an offline professional, you need an online presence. This blog is also intended as an entrepreneur’s resource guide especially for massage practitioners and service professionals.  Best of all, most of the resouces I’ll list are free or low cost. But just because they’re free, doesn’t mean they’re not valuable. From time to time I’ll  be inviting guests to add their own info posts. Stay tuned and visit me on the web @ http://www.inmyhands.ca
